FAQ

Product usage

The durability of air fresheners is influenced by several external factors such as usage temperature, air humidity, and adherence to the usage instructions. For example, polymer-based products release fragrance most effectively when exposed to warm air — if airflow through the car vent where the product is placed is blocked, the scent intensity may be unsatisfactory. Cellulose air fresheners perform best in moderate temperatures of 15–25°C. In hot climates, evaporation occurs much faster, which leads to an intense scent on the first day but a rapid decline in intensity in the days that follow.

For countries with high ambient temperatures, we recommend products such as: terpene gel, gel in a jar — both offer the highest fragrance intensity in hot climates. Car sprays are also suitable, but note: never leave glass spray bottles in a car when temperatures exceed 30°C or in direct sunlight — this poses a fire hazard. Wood-based air fresheners allow the user to control scent intensity by soaking the wooden cap. While we generally don’t recommend cellulose in high heat, we have options for fans of this format: Drop Control — a combination of cellulose and fragrance applicator allows you to apply scent when desired. Spray + Cellulose — this innovative approach extends the life of your favorite hanging air freshener. You decide when and how intensely it smells — just spray and enjoy.

All of our products are designed not to pose any risk to your car’s interior. Every casing, bottle, cap, and other component undergoes extensive laboratory and user testing before market release. Safety is a top priority in our product development process. However, real-life use can present unexpected scenarios. That’s why our labels include instructions for use and emergency tips — for example, what to do if the contents of a wood air freshener spill. Speed is crucial — if you spot even a drop on your dashboard, immediately wipe it off with a dry cloth or tissue to prevent damage.
⚠️ Always read the label instructions before hanging the product in your car — proper use is the best way to protect your vehicle’s interior.

We always recommend applying sprays — regardless of formulation — onto car mats. This is the safest method, ensuring no stains or damage to sensitive surfaces in your car.

MTM uses ODOURCO technology in its odor-neutralizing products. This method relies on an olfactory key that works on your scent perception thresholds. It doesn’t just mask odors — ODOURCO ensures your nose only detects the pleasant fragrance of perfume.
If you’re looking for an effective solution to unpleasant everyday odors, ODOURCO-based products are for you.

A common issue with air fresheners is uneven scent release — a strong smell right after opening, which quickly fades. At MTM, our lab constantly works to extend the usable life of our products. We know how important long-lasting fragrance is for our customers.
Here are a few tips:
  • Choose the right fragrance carrier — membrane, polymer, and gel types allow for more balanced scent release.
  • If you prefer cellulose (due to its variety of designs and fragrances), don’t fully remove the foil at once. Gradually slide it down during use — this helps extend the scent’s life.

Safety & labeling information

GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation) is a new EU law on product safety. Starting December 13, 2024, all consumer products — including those sold online — must clearly display safety information. You’ll find this information on our product labels.

Yes — for products classified as potentially harmful to health. As of January 1, 2025, a UFI (Unique Formula Identifier) must appear on the label. If a product is not classified as harmful, UFI is not required.

As of January 1, 2027, new CLP labeling rules apply, requiring:
  • Minimum font size of 1.2 mm for better legibility,
  • White background and black text in the warning panel,
  • A clearly separated warning section from the rest of the label.
This ensures that important information is easy to find on the packaging.

REACH is a regulation requiring producers to share ingredient and hazard details throughout the supply chain. This guarantees the product has been verified and classified based on current scientific knowledge.

All safety details for our air fresheners are listed on the label. According to EU regulations, all air fresheners must be properly labeled by the manufacturer or distributor.
These products are not intended for children or pets and may pose risks if misused. They are not cosmetic products and are not meant for skin contact, so they do not undergo dermatological testing.
We carefully formulate our products according to IFRA guidelines.
As most fragrance ingredients — both natural and synthetic — can act as allergens, we advise sensitive individuals to use caution.
If you’re allergic, read product labels carefully. If an ingredient is listed that you’re sensitive to, choose a different product.
⚠️ If the label includes: “H317 – May cause an allergic skin reaction”, be cautious. Choose short-ingredient products and avoid those classified as hazardous.
Also remember: “Natural” doesn’t always mean “safe” — many natural ingredients are strong allergens.

Yes. As an EU-based manufacturer, we fully comply with all relevant regulations, including:
  • CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
  • REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006
  • Detergents Regulation (EC) No 648/2004
  • Polish Act on Chemical Substances and Mixtures (Dz.U. 2020, item 2289)
  • Aerosol regulations (Directive 75/324/EEC)
We also adhere to local regulations in each country we sell our products in.

Most air fresheners are not biodegradable or compostable. The fragrances used are complex mixtures of natural and synthetic scent compounds.
